General Manager (Former Employee) says"This was the worst job I've had in my life. I learned you have to choose happiness over money. The bonus structures were great before they changed them but only increased the already intense pressure. No support from upper level management."
General Manager (GM) says"I worked for titlemax for several years. The company has gone downhill because of the executive's greed. The culture is you are replaceable. Polices and procedures are made by people who have never stepped foot in a store. They claim to have a succession plan however there is no succession after the GM level. They claim to promote from within, but they continue to hire from the outside. In Illinois they lead with punishments and intimidation/humiliation tactics. Then they wonder why no one is excited to work here and why their numbers stink. DDO's will through you under the bus. They are "yes-men" and jokers. Upper management claims to be servant leaders, however they don't know how to process a loan or even answer the phone, so how are they heplful...? During covid GM's had to buy their own cleaning supplies and take a pay cut while taking the most risk! Corporate would survey stores about their on hand cleaning products and do nothing!! If you needed PPE you bought it yourself. Salaried managers and executives worked from home, took no risk, and collected full pay. This is a horrible company and you will never be cared about. Store Manager (Former Employee) says"You do not matter to this company, all they care about is selling loans and then trying to get them back but they sell loans is such a cheap rate was very little collateral that you’ll never get them back. GM (Former Employee) says"I liked some of the people I worked with but upper management was messy. Regional manager would gossip, my district manager would gossip and they showed poor leadership. Our best was never good enough and we felt like management had their picks. They would recognize stores that they was close to but not the store that was actually making a difference.GM makes good moneyStore managers are under paid and are not appreciate, Honestly the store manager did all the work, The GM makes 50k while the SM makes 32k, Thats bs, I know 1st hand that the SM work just as hard as the GMThank you for your feedback and review. teegan Ware says"I was behind on my vehicle and it got towed. The day after it was towed I tried to pay the amount of the loan back which was 3600 and he wouldn't take it. The part that pisses me off the next day he called a family member and told them my vehicle was gonna be actuion. How the hell can he put my business out there? O I'm pissed. Never do business with these theifs again"
Khayeem says"Title Max and title pawns in general are bad news. DO NOT do a title pawn even if you need the money right away it’s not worth it. They lowball you because you’re desperate and make you pay back almost double what you own. Makes no sense at all. Title pawns are a way to get into quick debt and it’s not worth it. I’m NEVER doing this again. NEVER."
Jeffery says"This company is so disrespectful and rude. On their main online page their customer service chat is so rude, unresponsive, and disrespectful. Specifically two agents named Givanna and DeAndre have refused me service. I would simply say I needed help and they would end the live chat. DeAndre refused to help me with a loan because I was a minority. I asked another agent if she knew DeAndre and she said no but when I contacted Givanna on the chat she said yes but he will not apologize to me. I just want a help with a loan but this service has refused me time and time again."
Ronnie Garrett says"I specifically requested a loan payment date on Thursdays on my application as that's when I get paid. Instead, they based my payment off an old loan and I was set up for Wednesdays instead of confirming my current paycheck deposit days. Now they want me to call 2 days ahead before every payment is due so I don't get charged a late fee. They absolutely refused to change the due date stating that they cannot permanently change it!
I waited on hold for 15 mins and I don't have time to call TitleMax every 2 weeks and wait on hold for 15 minutes plus 5-10 minutes talking to a representative just to tell them my payment will be a day late. They are the ones that messed up my pay dates, not me.
Paying the loan off in 1 lump sum and I will not do business with TitleMax any longer. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!"
Jeffery says"This company is unbelievable. I tried getting help in the live chat and an agent on the chat named DeAndre refused me service and kept removing me from chats. I asked for a loan and DeAndre, an chat Agent was very rude and said I couldn't get a loan because I am worthless and a minority. They refused to talk to me so I talked with another agent and they said DeAndre wasn't even in their system!!!! HORRIBLE SERVICE HERE. How can this be allowed."
sue f says"DONT DO IT. ESPECIALLY DONT DO BUSINESS WITH TITLEMAX. THEY COME TAKE YOUR CAR REGARLESS HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CONTINUE TO THROW AT THEM.
IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE
DONT DO BUSINESS WITH TITLEMAX
#UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCOMPETENT"
Andre Grayson says"TileMax are shiesty Ass hell these muthaf***a`s said they put a hold on a repo. Then try to take my vehicle today this morning. They never tried to work with me I attempted to setup a payment plan, instead they refused I have 13 children & my father is COVID survivor I mentioned that needs to get back & forth to his Doctor appointments. They disregarded the information that they where privy to about my family needs instead they sent a repo man to my house today & tried to steal my vehicle without my consent. God is not pleased & iis not mocked you will reap what you sowe. America don`t f*** with these people they only in it to help their selves and no one else. I pray y`all all burn in hell for this s*** how can y`all sleep knowing that y`all put people in a hazardous state of living. How can y`all say f*** you like this. I question the integrity of this establishment. Don`t use them."
Veronica Stogsdill says"Title Max came and repossessed our car today. Here’s the kicker. We own the car flat out. We bought it from a dealership 2.5 years ago, paid it off this summer and have the clear title in hand.
The previous owner had the car repossessed from her. A dealer bought the car at an auction. She then turned around took her title to Title Max and they gave her a loan for a car she didn’t even have anymore. She faulted on her loan and they towed my car because they didn’t run the VIN to see that she wasn’t even the rightful owner of the car.
I have been told this is a common issue with Title Max.
After spending the morning calling 3 different companies we were able to get our car back. Title Max called us and apologized for the inconvenience having our car towed away. Now we have to take our car to the mechanic to fix the damage caused by the tow driver."
Peter Metzkow says"Nothing else then Credit Sharks. Have no idea how this is even allowed by law. They don’t care, taken car’s away from people during Corona Virus. If you can’t pay and they repo your car you pay double the amount. All kind of weird, nonsense fees. I would give 0 stars if I could....."
theftvictim says"I never did business with Titlemax. I received a Domestic Terrorist call from this company on my voicemail. I called back and kept getting the voicemail. I called the corporate office and spoke to a bratty child. I was told they was calling me because I co-signed a loan for Chase Wright. I never co-signed a loan for anyone and I do not know who Chase Wright is. Titlemax needs to get their facts straight."
Wolf Froman says"So basically, I am on disability and due to my health deteriorating I couldn't make my payments and voluntarily gave TitleMax my vehicle. I felt it was the right thing to do. They told me it was all taken care of. Next thing I know I get a letter stating they sold my vehicle for $525.00 and billed me for $1,551.02. That was my only vehicle and now I can't even get to the doctor or get groceries plus I have more debt. Thanks TitleMax, you are a class act. I hope this type of lending gets abolished in the USA. Find other resources, these guys will leave you penniless and without a vehicle if they get their way"
Jason Hargrove says"Title Max should be investigated by the government they are robbing people blind with there high interest rates and high payment people have to pay.It a shame"
Guy Miller says"There is one thing for sure. Tltlemax will burn in hell along with rest of the vermin that pray on people like they do."
Joshua says"I recently got a loan from TitleMax but did so in the town I was in not the town I lived in. I was in told by TitleMax when I went to a branch in the town I live that I could not access any of my available credit. I was in told I would have to drive 170 miles to get access to the credit for the title which they held. I will pay this loan I never use TitleMax again. By the way this is not my first loan with TitleMax I have another loan paid off."
Nikolus Thompson says"The new people at title Max in grandview Missouri are very rude."
Shontavial says"I associated with the TitleMax located in Brunswick Georgia on Cypress Mills. My experience with title max was the greatest easiest and grip experience that I have ever had when dealing with loan companies. A special thanks to Chad, He was understanding, made sure I comprehend, and suggested strategies. Throughout my visit with TitleMax he made it all smooth and was I was able to pay titleMax off without the stress thanks Chad you’re the best"
Brian Talley says"I used the branch in Fort Mill, SC I was lied to by the general manager. I asked for a written copy of copy that my loan was aid in full told would mail it and I never received it.i made payments on app doesn’t give options for a way to get proof of payment. I would not recommend them to anybody I know."
TM says"When you are in financial pain, TitleMax will surely drain. Even during pandemic, they impose high rates and pursue selling your car for fraction of its worth to get their cash profit no matter the fact that you already have repaid the original loan amount . Extreme profiteers."
Antonia Chavana says"I used to trust TitleMax until they changed their rates and interest rates, now in order to pay off a title loan, you need to pay more than the due amount because, "as they didn't explain to me" the due amount was only the monthly interest. I was very disappointed with their changes and will never go to them ever again. I don't usually do reviews but I think people need to know when your being taken by any company."
